Lorna Loves - New Cosmetic Haul

After attending my very first blogers meet at Towib yesterday, my friend and I went on to do a little bit of retail therapy - we hit Selfridges and forever 21.

I have decided that I want to get more in to make up and actually learn a little bit. So I plucked up the courage to get matched at Mac. I have always been nervous, not really sure why but has been something I have been putting off for a while, but going out looking like a tomato or an orange really wasn't working for me anymore. I recently bought the Garnier B.B cream, as had read lots of good reviews on it, however I have to admit that I was not that impressed. If you have perfect skin and don't need to wear foundation for coverage then it will be perfect for you, but if you are like me and have skin that has a mind of its own of when it wants to be good, I wouldn't recommend it. I needed a foundation that gave me full coverage but not make me look like I was caked in make up. So Mac was where I needed to go.

After the make up artist stripped me down to my natural look, I knew I had made the right move in choosing to invest in some good make up.

Mac has two different types of shades, NC and NW. NC being a more more pink based and NW having a more yellowy tinge to it. So opting for NW as I am more yellow skin toned than pink, the studio fix fluid foundation was amazing. The transformation from what I looked like before was massive! One side of my face with nothing on and the other with the Mac foundation. That was one thing on the shopping list instantly.

I have combination skin, therefore do not need a foundation that is over moisturising nor do I need one that is for oily skin. My previous foundation was one that, yes did good coverage but made my skin feel and look very shiny and sticky (not good!) This one glided onto the skin and left it looking natural. this is partly down to the quality of the foundation but also to the primer. A moisturising one that leaves your skin kissable soft and keeps the foundation on and stay on! Primer added to the list!

Next was a beautiful blusher, a limited edition. Can't really say much more than it is fab and that I needed to buy it.

SLEEK

I have heard of the cosmetics brand Sleek before, however never bought anything. I played it safe and went for an eye shadow palette, consisting of a beautiful range of colours to create a sophisticated day look as well as an eye catching evening look. Sleek makes it clear that each shade can be worn on its own along with mixing them for a 'personalised look'. I am in total agreement with this, as I said earlier I am a bit of a make up virgin but and changing that and have lost my eyeshadow cherry to Sleek. The colours are so pigmented so have a really rich look to them and stay on your lids for the whole evening (with a few smudges here and there) However I do use an eye lid primer by e.l.f. 

Sleek have a range of cosmetics, and as far as I gather, eye make up is their speciality. The i-Divine range of eye shadow palettes, this in particular one is 'Storm'.

So I recently treated myself to some e.l.f. products, I had never heard of them before unitl my friends recommended them, so I had a look at it is crazily cheap! So I stocked up on everything, from tinted moisturiser to eyelid primer.
